AQUATICS & AMERICAN RED CROSS PROGRAMS
PARENT & ME : AGES 6 MONTHS – 3 YRS
Our Parent & Me program is a water orientation and adaptation class that helps children become comfortable with the water and learn the basics. Skills are introduced at the child’s development level and build-up as the child progresses. This class is fun for both the kids and the parents. 6 sessions, 30 minutes each.
We offer swim lessons to help swimmers and non-swimmers, ages 3 to adults, to develop abilities or improve their swimming and water safety skills. Swimming is a great way to build self confidence. Private and Semi-Private lesson packages are available. Lessons are scheduled at your convenience.
COMPETITIVE STROKE: AGES 6 – 17 YRS
These training sessions are aimed at refining competitive strokes, improving endurance, strength and speed through a variety of drills.
Join the swim team and take it to the next level! This program is for those who want to improve their strength and timing for competition, in a very accepting and nurturing environment. PREREQUISITE: Must be able to demonstrate competency in all four competitive strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly).
WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTOR: AGES 16+
PREREQUISITE: Swimmers must be able to perform all 6 strokes to qualify as candidates. 25 yards Freestyle, 25 yards Back Crawl, 25 yards Breaststroke, 25 yards Elementary Backstroke, 25 yards Sidestroke, 15 yards Butterfly. Maintain position on back for 1 minute in deep water (floating or sculling). Tread water for 1 minute.
LIFEGUARD TRAINING: AGES 15+
PREREQUISITE: Must be at least 15 years of age. Must be able to swim 300 yards (100 yards Freestyle, 100 yards Breaststroke, 100 yards either freestyle or breaststroke.) Must be able to retrieve a 10-pound object from 7-10 feet of water as well as swim the 20 yards to and from the object and exit the water without the use of a ladder or steps within 1 minute and 40 seconds.
Learn how to respond to a cardiac or breathing emergency, including the use of automated external defibrillators (AED). With an emphasis on hands-on learning, our CPR/AED courses will give you the skills to save a life. All courses align with OSHA’s Best Practices for Workplace First Aid Training Programs and certificates are issued upon successful completion. Adult and infant/child CPR options available.
